HOCKEY SQUAD RESTS TO 31ST

AFTER BRISK PRACTICE PLAYERS BREAK TRAINING OVER CHRISTMAS.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University hockey squad ran through the last practice before the vacation on the Charlesbank rinks yesterday afternoon. Teams A and B had a brisk scrimmage which occupied the major part of the afternoon, as Coach Claflin is working hard to whip the team into shape for the opening game with Toronto on January 3.

Team Work Emphasized..

Special emphasis is being laid now on accuracy and sureness rather than on speed or individual brilliancy. Yesterday the two offense lines were time and again sent down the ice with the puck to train them in the art of team-work around which the Winsor system of hockey play has been built. Since the resumption of practice this week the squad has improved considerably.

Resume Practice December 31.

The hockey squad will break training today until December 31, when the entire aggregation will report at the Cambridge Ice Pavilion for practice. Daily practice will be held from then until Saturday's game under the direction of Coach Claflin. It is expected that Coach Alfred Winsor '02 will be able to come out for a day or two before the team meets the Canadians.

The line-up of teams A and B as they have been playing during the last week is as follows: TEAM A.  TEAM B. Bacon, l.w.  r.w., Phillips, Gaston Buntin, l.c.  r.c., Cabot Bigelow, r.c.  l.c., Baldwin Avery, Payne, r.w.  l.w., Angier Stillman, c. p.  c.p., Romaine Stubbs, p.  p. Hitchcock Holmes, g.  g., Seager, Louderback
