DRAMATIC CLUB PICKS OUT CASTS FOR TWO COMEDIES

Seymour Chooses Buskin Artists for "Erasmus Montanus" and "Fame and the Poet."

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the end of two weeks' rehearsal casts have been selected by the Dramatic Club for both "Fame and the Poet" and "Erasmus Montanus." So abundant has the material been that Coach J. W. D. Seymour '17 was obliged to extend the trials for several days before he decided on the final cast. As it is, he has been obliged to cut some men who in ordinary years would have found a place in the cast.

"Fame and the Poet," and "Erasmus Montanus," although both are comedies, require entirely different types of acting. The former, by Lord Dunsany, requires almost no strong delineation of character, but the subtlety of dialogue demands a nice rendition of the lines. "Erasmus Montanus," on the other hand, being an old comedy, is dependent for its effect almost entirely on vivid portrayal of character.

The actors retained for the cast of "Fame and the Poet" are as follows: M. Dill '20, W. V. M. Fawcett '21, F. S. Stranahan '21, and P. Robinson Occ. Miss Louise Jennison of Radcliffe, president of the Idler Club, is the leading candidate for the part of "Fame." For "Erasmus Montanus" the candidates retained are as follows: B. K. Little '23, P. R. Harmell '23, R. H. L. Skinner '22, D. T. Eaton Unc., P. Williams Unc., A. P. Hill '20, B. Boyce '22, F. E. Parker, Jr., 1L.
