SIX FACULTY APPOINTMENTS MADE

Blise Perry is Granted Leave of Absence for Year 1920-21.

A number of new appointments to the Faculties of Arts and Sciences, of the Law School, and of the Engineering School, have been made for the coming year. In addition, Professor Bliss Perry has been granted a year's leave of absence for 1920-21.

John Kirkland Clark, a member of the New York law firm of Murray, Prentice and Clark, has been appointed Lecturer on New York Practice at the Law School for the current year. Mr. Clark was graduated from Yale in 1899, and took his degree sum laude in 1902 at the Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review.

John Clements Barnes has been appointed Instructor in Surveying for the summer of 1920. Mr. Barnes is Professor of Mathematics in the North Georgia Agricultural College, where he was graduated with the degree of B. S. in 1902. He was for many years an assistant to Professor Hughes at the Engineering School.

Joseph Linus Schlitt of Joplin, Missouri, a graduate of the University of Missouri in the class of 1916, has been appointed Instructor in Mechanical Engineering at the Engineering School.

Francis P. Magoun, Jr., '16, of Cambridge, has been advanced from an assistant to a regular Instructor in Comparative Literature.

The Western Exchange Professors to be sent by Harvard this year to lecture at various colleges in the West are Byron S. Hurlbut '87, Professor of English and formerly Dean of the College, and the Reverend Edward C. Moore, Professor of Theology and Chairman of the Board of Preachers. They will serve in the West during the second half-year.
