BASKETBALL REVIVAL UNDER WAY

Interdormitory Teams Start Practice Soon; Regular Team Possible in 1920.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Basketball will soon be revived as a recognized sport in the University, after a lapse of many years, according to the plans of the Department of Physical Training. It is probable that no attempt will be made to establish a University team at present, but this, it is expected, will come as a natural result of Freshman basketball.

The step has been taken in accordance with the program of the department, which aims to give every Freshman an opportunity to join a sport for which he is fitted and which is to his liking. The change was decided upon in a conference between Major F. W. Moore '93, Dr. Paul Withington '09. Dr. R. L. Lee '02, and Mrs. W. H. Geer, Director of Physical Training.

Practice for interdormitory teams will start next week in Hemenway Gymnasium and will be held three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Later in the year, when the basketball court in the New Freshman Athletic Building is completed, the teams will hold their practice there.
