Test Philharmonic Applicants

Mr. F. W. Wodell, well-known as a conductor of Oratorio concerts in Symphony Hall, Boston, is meeting applicants for the new People's Philharmonic Choir on Sundays between 4.30 and 5.30 o'clock at Recital Hall, New England Conservatory Building, Boston. The tests which he conducts are very moderate, the chief requisites being an agreeable voice and an "ear" for music rather than the ability to sing a solo.

The Choir is for those who want to go farther, musically, than is possible in the "Community Chorus" and similar organizations and have the natural endowment to permit them to do so. Mr. Wodell, being a professional singer and instructor, is able to see that voices are not "forced" and to give very valuable instruction in choral technique and interpretation.

There is nothing now in Boston or its vicinity which resembles the Philharmonic Choir which is to give a concert in Jordan Hall on January 9. Full information concerning the choir may be had by writing to Mr. Wodell, 12 Huntington Avenue, Boston.
