DRAMATIC CLUB PLAYS IN PI ETA THEATRE DECEMBER 9TH

After a two weeks' competition, the final casts for the Dramatic Club's productions of "Erasmus Montanus" and "Fame and the Poet" has been selected. In the first play B. K. Little '23 has won the title role. As Erasmus, Little will be by far the most important character in the play. Erasmus is a young man who has been educated out of his station, and returns to his humble parents with considerably enlarged conceit. The fall of his pride and his ultimate humbling form the theme of the play.

The other leading parts of those of Peer, an omniscient deacon, whose pretensions to learning afford comic opportunities; Jeppe, the father of Erasmus, whose paternal pride adds a sympathetic touch to the play; Nille, an old peasant woman; and Jacob, a country bumpkin. They are played by V. P. Williamson Unc., D. T. Eaton Unc., Miss Tripp of Radcliffe, and R. H. L. Skinner '22, respectively.

"Fame and the Poet," the second play, has only three characters, Prattle, played by W. V. M. Fawcett '20, De Reves, by M. H. Dill '20, and Fame, by Miss Louise Jennison of Radcliffe. Prattle is, as the name implies, a somewhat empty-headed and extremely matter of fact man about town. De Reves is a poet and an impractical dreamer. Fame is an allegorical figure.

The first production of the two plays will be at the Pi Eta Theatre on December 9 and 10. On the 12th a matinee will be given at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston.
