Three University crews of equal strength, to race against each other, were picked from the University oarsmen who reported to the meeting held at Newell Boat Club yesterday afternoon. Those men who wish to row, but who are not assigned to one of these three crews, will be divided up into club crews as soon as possible.
The three University crews got on the river yesterday. The make-up of crews A. B and C is as follows:
Crew A: 1, Appleton; 2, Sise; 3, T. H. Mills; 4, C. F. Batchelder; 5, A. Mills; 6, Terry; 7, De Ford; stroke, Jenney; cox, Stedman.
Crew B: 1, Damon; 2, G. Brown; 3, Cabot; 4, Lothrop; 5, Gratwick; 6, Sutton; 7, Pond; stroke, Bradlee; cox., Pierson.
Crew C: 1, Davis; 2, La Farge; 3, Denton; 4, Morris; 5, Atkinson; 6, Borland; 7, Keays; stroke, H. Brown; cox., Louderback.
Of the 13 Freshman crews which are being organized, three were on the river yesterday. The others are expected to follow shortly.

Coaches Haines and Brown have been secured to work this fall with the University and Freshmen crews respectively. There are now 140 men on the University squad, but the management can handle more candidates for both University and Freshman crews. Races are being arranged for every crew organized.
