PHI BETA KAPPA MEMBERS TO HOLD CONFERENCE TOMORROW

The University chapter of Phi Beta Kappa will hold its first meeting this year tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock in Holworthy 15. At this meeting the arrangements for the future activities of the society will be discussed and the plans for next month's elections will be arranged.

Early in November, twenty-two of the forty-four highest Seniors and eight of the twelve highest Juniors in scholastic fields will be elected members of the society. After mid-years five more seniors will be elected, and an additional five seniors will be taken in just after graduation. In these spring elections distinction in outside activities will be considered, as well as scholastic excellence. The society will keep in view the men who were forced to drop back one or more classes on account of time spent in the service. This will not count against a man if he is eligible for other reasons.

Also plans will be discussed for the resumption of the customary bi-weekly dinners. At these dinners a member of the Faculty or some other prominent man is usually invited to speak. General discussion always follows the speech. The regular winter banquet of the society will be held in December.
