Fuel oil burning equipment is being installed by the University under the boilers at the Stillman Infirmary, the Union and the Medical School. It is estimated that a very appreciable saving will result from this installation. During the summer similar changes were made in the heating plants at Pierce Hall and Memorial Hall.

A smaller enrollment is reported at Yale this year than in 1916, the last normal college year. The total enrollment is 2.289, as against 2.394 in 1916.
