HAMPERED BY POOR ICE

About 40 candidates for the Freshman team and 20 for the University team reported to R. E. Gross '19 at the Charlesbank rink yesterday in the first practice of the season. The Freshman players practised from 2.15 to 3.15, and the University players from 3.15 to 4.15.

Both rinks were used, but the ice was in poor condition, being rough in places. By tomorrow, however, the rinks will be flooded.

Both squads spent most of the time in learning elementary points. Coach Gross had every player take a turn at shooting goals and practice position skating.
