CREW SEASON OPENED WITH MEETING AND PRACTICE

Forty Candidates Reported at Newell Boathouse.--Voluntary Practice Until Thursday.

About 40 candidates for the University and Freshman crews reported at the Newell Boathouse yesterday for practice, and they were set to work on the machines on the second floor.

Henceforth voluntary practice will be held until Thursday between 2 and 5 o'clock under the supervision of Coach Haines at the Newell Boathouse.

The training rules for University and Freshman candidates are as follows: bed at 10.30 except on Saturdays, when the time is 11.30; no smoking; no drinking, except a bottle of ale or beer for supper; regular meals. Strict training will start on April 15.
