SPECIAL BUSINESS SCHOOL SESSION OPENS JANUARY 27

Announcement was made yesterday from the College Office of a special session of the Graduate School of Business Administration to be held from January 27 until August 30. This decision was made in order to accommodate members of the University who received their discharge from Government service too late to take advantage of the regular session. This special session is divided into two halves, the first to extend from January 27 to May 10, inclusive, and the second from May 12 to August 30, inclusive, there being no recess between the two periods.

Modify Admission Requirements.

Requirements for admission as regular students and candidates for the M.B.A. degree have been modified to benefit men who have been in the service. Students who have not received the bachelor's degree from an approved college or scientific school will nevertheless be admitted provided they were entitled to senior rank in an institution of this kind at the beginning of the academic year 1918-1919, and who for six months have been in the military or naval service of the United States or one of the Allies or in civilian war work which occupied their whole time. Such men must present certificates of their college work and proper evidence of discharge from Government service or civilian war work.

Many Subjects Offered.

The following subjects are offered in the program of instruction of the special session: accounting, law, marketing, industrial management, business statistics, general business problems, foreign trade, banking and finance, lumbering, and office organization and devices, the last of which does not count towards any degree. Men who have already taken the first half of full regular courses in previous sessions of the School will take the courses of the second half of the special session. During the academic year 1919-1920, beginning on September 22, 1919, it is expected that all courses previously given in the School and omitted during 1918-1919 because of war-time conditions will be resumed.

New Law School Requirements.

There will be a special session of the Law School from February 3 to August 30, in order to accommodate students who were released from the service too late to enter the regular session. In addition to college graduates, all students who have completed three years of the prescribed course of a college of high grade and who left college to enter the military service of the United States or one of the countries allied to the United States, will be admitted, provided only that they can furnish certificates of their college work and proper evidence of furlough or discharge from the service.
