Lamont '92 American Financial Adviser at Peace Conference

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Thomas William Lamont '92, of New York City, has been selected by the Secretary of the Treasury as one of the two financial advisors of the American delegation at the Peace Conference. It is understood that Mr. Lamont has been asked to proceed as promptly as possible to Paris and thence to Spain and Belgium to advise in regard to the armistice conditions in conjunction with Marshal Foch and Admiral Browning. Mr. Lamont has assisted the Federal Government during the war at frequent intervals in an unofficial capacity, especially in matters of international finance.

The exact nature of the work of the two financiers is not yet known, but it is understood that they will take up the duties left by O. T. Crosby, Assistant Treasurer of the United States, who has returned to this country. They will probably also assist in the disbursement of the European Food Relief Fund.
