President Eliot has accepted the appointment as honorary chairman of the Massachusetts State Committee of the American Committee for Relief in the near East.
The Massachusetts Committee has been assigned the task of raising $1,500,000, which is the Bay State's quota of the national drive for $30,000,000 for relief work in the near East.
The campaign in Massachusetts will open February 9 and continue through the 22d.
