Despite the excellent shooting of many of its members in the range practice for Military Science 1 men at Wakefield during the past two days, the Second Battalion returned to Cambridge yesterday without bettering the average of the First Battalion, made the preceding week. The grand average of the scores in the Second Battalion for members of the first year course only was 119.2, while that in the First Battalion was 119.8. No expert shots were found among the elementary course men this week; 64, however, attained the three lower qualifications. C. L. Wilson '20, of Company F, a member of Military Science 2, was the only cadet to qualify as expert rifleman, scoring 173. The Second Battalion's results show that eight men qualified as sharpshooters, and 24 as marksmen. Of the Military Science 1 men in the battalion the best shots were Arthur Rotch '21, of Company E, and Frederick Bocher '18, of Company H, both of whom turned in scores of 165.
The highest company average in the battalion was made by Company F, with 122.8, as compared with Company B's average of 124 made on the range last week. The results in the Second Battalion were as follows:
