1921 DEFEATED ANDOVER, 60 TO 48

With three firsts, one triple tie and one second place to his credit, C. G. Krogness, captain of the Freshman track team, showed himself the star performer in the first dual meet of the 1921 schedule against Andover at Andover Saturday afternoon. The contest resulted disastrously for the school team, the Freshmen winning by the score of 60 to 48.

Captain Krogness made first place in the 120-yard high hurdles, the 220-yard low hurdles, and the shot-put, as well as tying for first in the high jump with E. O. Gourdin and W. Goodell. He also took second in the running broad jump, being defeated by Gourdin by a margin of one foot, three inches. Goodell came in second in the 220 hurdles, in addition to scoring in the triple tie. J. E. Nally brought in five points by winning first place in the mile run in four minutes, 52 seconds. G. G. Monks also made a first, throwing the hammer 123 feet, five inches.

Other 1921 men who placed were H. C. Conrod and P. T. Cumner with seconds, C. A. Chase, H. M. Doherty, G. W. Howe and A. McElwain with thirds. Although the times made were by no means exceptional, the results showed a well-developed Freshman team.
