8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The University tennis team, in its opening match of the season, will meet Dartmouth on Divinity Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The strength of the University players is problematical, for as in all other sports this spring, the team has been built up from an absolutely fresh start, with very little nucleus around which to work. Two men of considerable experience, however, are included in the number scheduled to play today. They are E. B. Benjamin '18, who captained his fall Freshman team, and F. M. Warburg '19, who played on the 1919 team. The following men will compose the team this afternoon: E. Benjamin '18, F. M. Warburg '19, A. A. Claflin '20, A. E. Kirk '20, H. G. Trevor Jr., '20, W. Rowe '20.
On Saturday the University team meets M. I. T. on Divinity Field at 3 o'clock. For this second match, an entirely different team will represent the University.
Freshmen Began Season with Victory.
The 1921 players began their tennis season Wednesday with a one-sided victory over Boston English High, winning every match by a wide margin. The summary: Singles--N. R. Knox '21 defeated Biddell, 6 to 0, 7 to 5; G. W. Caner '21 defeated MacHugh, 6 to 0, 6 to 1; F. C. Hanighen '21 defeated Sulkan, 6 to 1, 6 to 0; E. D. Cumming '21 defeated Hartshorn, 6 to 0, 6 to 1.
Doubles.--J. B. Fenno, Jr., '21 and L. O. de Turenne '21 (capt.) defeated Biddell and Hartshorn, 6 to 1, 6 to 0; W. T. Richards '21 and H. B. W. Snelling '21 defeated Sulkan and MacHugh, 6 to 2, 6 to 2.
