This afternoon the first field exercise of the term will be held by the University Training Corps at Fresh Pond. The troops will fall in by battalions at points previously assigned and will march to the combat ground as a regiment, accompanied by the Regimental Band and the colors.
Morning drills for the separate companies of the corps, such as have been held in the past, will be discontinued in the future, and the practical training of the cadets will be concentrated in the afternoon exercises. Bayonet work, as it has been practised at the Stadium, will also be abandoned.
The University military Staff has issued the following regulations regarding the wearing of uniforms during the remainder of the academic year:
R. O. T. C. and Veritas shield insignia in bronze will be worn on the right side of the shirt collar. Officers will wear insignia of rank, in silver, on left side of shirt collar. U. S. R. O. T. C. shield insignia will be worn on left sleeve of shirt.
No ties will be worn by any member of the corps.
All staff officers and company commanders will wear leather puttees. Lieutenants will wear roll puttees. Noncoms and privates will wear regulation canvas puttees. Officers will wear the regulation army officer's hat cord (gold and black).
In case of cold or inclement weather, blouses may be worn, but not at exercises unless so ordered.
