Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Coincident with the appointment of Burnham Lewis '20, of Philadelphia, Pa., as captain of the University track team, comes the announcement that the track management is arranging for a meet with M. I. T., to take place probably on May 9.
The date for the M. I. T. meet has not been absolutely settled, but Captain F. H. Moore '93, treasurer of the H. A. A., has approved the arrangements. There is no doubt, however, of the races being added to the schedule, which at present contains only one other date, the triangular meet with Yale and Princeton at New Haven on May 25.
Lewis will also captain the R. O. T. C. relay team which has arranged to enter the road race over the Ashland-Boston marathon course on Patriots' Day, April 19. He has been the most successful long distance runner in the class of 1920, winning many cross-country races. He was captain of his Freshman cross-country team and also led the University cross-country team last fall. He has, in addition, entered many amateur races about Boston.
With the opening of the oval in the Stadium there has been increased activity in track practice. The entire squad is now able to use the cinder track and Coach Donovan has a number of men in practice races every day. A number of new candidates have been reporting for the field events, facilities for which are now adequate.
