JUBILEE CHORUSES ORGANIZED

Dr. Davison Will Include Patriotic and War Songs in Program.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Work for the Freshman jubilee choruses began last night at an enthusiastic meeting of the class in Smith Halls Common Room. Dr. A. T. Davison '06 University choirmaster, had charge of the meeting and was assisted at the piano by H. E. Hinners '19.

Dr. Davison explained briefly the plans for training the chorus, and spoke of the songs which would probably be sung at the jubilee. Especial attention will be paid to patriotic songs, and it is likely that a series of national songs of the Allied nations will also be included.

If the competition is carried on as in former years, each dormitory chorus will sing one song in unison and one part song, while all the choruses will sing some one song separately, to give a basis for the work of the judges. The important song of the day will be the class song, the competition for which ends April 23.

The accompanists in the different dormitories will also act as librarians, taking charge of the music used at the weekly periods of practice. The pianists who will do this as well as aiding the leaders in the various halls are: Standish, W. Davis; Smith, W. L. Straus; and in Gore, P. Tishman. No practises will be held for two weeks.
