ANNUAL TRACK CARNIVAL TO BE CONCLUDED TODAY

MAY ENTER B. A. A. RACE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

This afternoon on the board track on Soldiers Field the list of events for the second day of the annual mid-winter track carnival will take place, if the weather permits. Today's schedule will conclude the 1918 carnival.

Because of the small number of contestants this year, the broad jump, which was originally included among today's events, will not take place. The usual interclass relay race has been curtailed, too, and the contest this afternoon will only be between the Freshmen and a team composed of Sophomores, Juniors and one Senior.

The track management has announced the following program for this afternoon, subject to change without notice:

3.15--All entrants report at Locker Building.

3.35--1921 Interdormitory Relays.

3.45--Seven-lap handicap.

3.50--20-lap handicap.

4.00--Freshman-Sophomore Relay.

Plan to Compete in Marathon.

According to the present plans of the track management, the University R. O. T. C. will enter a team of 10 men in the annual B. A. A. marathon on April 19. The race is a 25-mile one, each man to run two and a half miles. If the regiment is represented in the marathon, it will be the first time that the University has competed in this race.
