The University Faculty has announced that during the past year it has found permanent positions for 34 graduates in Cambridge, beside being instrumental in, and often entirely responsible for, directly placing many men in Government service.
The list of places secured for men in civil life is as follows:
Grad, School of Business Administration, 12; School of Landscape Architecture, 2; Chemistry Division (Manufacturing), 10; Economics (Civic Organizations), 2; Geology (Mining and Oil), 2; Government (Secretarial-Statistical), 3; Metallurgical Engineering, 1; Physics (Manufacturing), 1; Romance Languages (Foreign trade), 1. Total, 34.
War Workers Placed.
The various schools of the University have done a great deal toward obtaining positions for graduates in different branches of Government work during the war. The Graduate School of Business Administration has been entirely responsible for filling 15 positions as assistant paymasters in the Navy, three positions in the Army service, and three special governmental posts. The School of Landscape Architecture has aided in obtaining over 50 positions in the Corps of Engineers, Camouflage and Forest Regiments, the Ambulance Corps, the Aviation Service and the Signal Corps. A large proportion have been under the Cantonment Division of the Quartermaster Department, in positions ranging from draftsmen and field assistants in engineering to designers of cantonments.
The Division of Chemistry in the College is responsible for 12 places in chemical work.
