Fifteen battery candidates for both the Freshman and informal baseball teams reported yesterday afternoon for the initial warming-up of the season. Practice started at 2.15 o'clock in the cage, and lasted for an hour and a half. At the conclusion of the workout Coach Duffy expressed himself as satisfied with the material so far offered. The infield will not start practice before March 1.
In the competition for Freshman manager only 12 candidates have reported. It is expected that this number will increase, as it is unusually small. Additional candidates are to report to R. McA. Lloyd '19 at the Locker Building at 2 o'clock this afternoon. These candidates will not be handicapped on account of failure to come out yesterday.
Until the Freshman managers are appointed for the 1921 team, both baseball squads will be managed by R. McA. Lloyd '19. As in football and hockey, the University team will be informal and the Freshman formal.
