J. A. SESSIONS AWARDED 1920 CLASS SCHOLARSHIP

John Archibald Sessions '21, of Northampton, was awarded the 1920 Class Memorial Scholarship by Dean Yeomans in behalf of the Class of 1920 at a meeting of the Freshman Class in the Smith Halls Common Room last evening. Sessions, who prepared at St. Paul's was manager of the 1921 football team this fall and has been one of the best players on the Freshman hockey team this winter. As established by the Class of 1919 in its gift last year the scholarship is valued at $400.

The Freshman meeting was first addressed by Ensign F. C. Church '20, president of the Class of 1920 last year, who stated that the executive board of the Sophomore Class had decided to give the scholarship in order to continue the custom established last year.

Dean Yeomans, in awarding the scholarship, spoke a few words about the difficulty of staying at college in war times.

"I can not help feeling," he said, "that of all men hereabouts, you have the hardest part. But while thinking of the great man whose birthday is tomorrow, I looked in the University Quinquennial Catalogue and found that his son stayed on through College and received his degree in the Class of 1864. Perhaps you can find some consolation in that.

"All history and government experts agree that when the fighting is over then the most difficult questions will have to be decided and decided by you. For that reason, keep on the job' right here until the order comes."
