FRESHMAN RUNNERS WON AGAIN

In the last practice encounter before the dual race with Yale 1921 next Saturday night, four Freshman runners for the second time defeated Boston College yesterday afternoon. The 390-yard relay, which was run on the board track at Soldiers Field, was won by the work of D. F. O'Connell '21, who started with a handicap of two yards and passed his opponent at the first corner by taking advantage of the latter's wide turn. Once in the lead, O'Connell was not headed again, and finished four yards ahead of Barry of Boston College.

A. W. Douglass '21, who ran first for 1921, lost the lead of Dempsey of Boston College. Neither J. M. B. Churchill '21 not C. H. Baldwin '21, the next two Freshman runners, were able to pass Hannon or Simmons their respective opponents, and it was left for O'Connell to decide the contest.

Among the runners practising on the board track yesterday in preparation for the B. A. A. meet on Saturday was "Jole" Ray of the Illinois Athletic Club, who last year won the three-mile championship event in the B. A. A. meet, and who now holds several records in distance events.

Coach Donovan gave several of the informal runners time trials yesterday afternoon, but he has not yet announced the personnel of the team which will meet M. I. T. Saturday night.
