Columbia University will close its buildings and suspend all exercises on Mondays from January 21 until March 25. This action is taken to co-operate with the orders of the Fuel Administration. At a conference of administrative officers of the university, it was decided that Columbia was not under compulsion to close, as it was not specifically included under the restrictions of the coal order. The decision was reached, however, that every effort should be made to assist the Government. Rearrangements of courses are now being made with the probability that classes will be changed from Monday to Saturday afternoon.
