CORNELL FESTIVITIES CURTAILED

Commencement Plans Simplified, Due to War Situation.

At Cornell, as well as at many other colleges and universities throughout the country, the program for commencement has been greatly curtailed due to conditions brought about by the war. A large number of the functions ordinarily included in the program, because of the abandonment of senior week and its attendant events, have been omitted entirely. The result is a commencement in which the usual social activities have been practically eliminated in favor of the simpler formal exercises which are now planned.

This year's commencement at Ithaca will be different from those of former years in that the abandonment of senior week necessitates the abandonment of the fraternity house-parties, and the senior ball as well.

Festivities will begin on Friday, June 22, and will continue through the following Wednesday. This year marks the 49th annual commencement at Cornell.
