President Alexander Meikeljohn, of Amherst College, will be the orator, and Hermann Hagedorn, Jr., '07, of Fairfield, Conn., the poet, at the annual literary exercises of the University Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa Society in Sanders Theatre this morning at 11.30 o'clock. Professor Charles Hall Grandgent '83 will preside. Members of the University and other chapters will form in procession in front of Harvard Hall at 11.15 o'clock, and will march to Sanders Theatre. The public will be admitted.
At the conclusion of the exercises the society will march to the Union, where dinner will be served. Members of the society from other chapters, if their names are on the secretary's list, as well as University members may obtain tickets for the dinner at two dollars each at Kent's University Bookstore and at Harvard Hall. If their names are not on the list they may obtain tickets from the secretary, W. C. Lane '81, at the Widener Library.
Alexander Meiklejohn was born in England and came to America at eight years of age. He received the degrees of A.B. and A.M. from Brown in 1893 and 1895, respectively, and in 1897 was awarded a Ph.D. by Cornell. He became an instructor in philosophy at Brown in 1897, an assistant professor in 1899, an associate professor in 1903, and dean from 1901 to 1912, when he left to take the chair at Amherst.
Hermann Hagedorn was an instructor of English at the University for several years and has written a number of plays which have been produced by the University Dramatic Club. He has also written many poems, among which are "The Woman of Corinth," "A Troop of the Guard, and Other Poems," and a volume of "Poems and Ballads."

The following three men have been chosen as new members of Phi Beta Kappa: Myron Guren '17, of Cleveland, Ohio; Rogers Bruce Johnson '17, of Newark, N. J.; and Thomas Paul Raysor '17, of Bryan, Tex.
