In an interview with a CRIMSON reporter yesterday, C. Dunham '10, of the National Service Bureau, gave out a tentative list of the opportunities open to men who are ineligible for military service.
The following list covers, for the most part, the chances for service which are immediately available, with the committees in charge:
Agriculture: In Massachusetts--Committee on Public Safety, Sub-Committee on Food Production, State House, Boston. In other states--local committees.
Ambulance Driving: American Ambulance Field Service, George Young, 40 State Street, Boston, or Norton-Harjes Ambulance Service, Ralph M. Wortly '19, Randolph 62.
Civil Service (for men with special training and experience): C. Dunham, 50 State Street, Boston.
Motor-Truck Driving: Motor-truck companies.
Munitions Work (for unskilled labor): Munitions factories.
Red Cross Work (including base hospital units going abroad): Allston Burr '89; 60 State Street, Boston.
Y. M. C. A. Work (including Army Huts): Arthur Beane '11, Phillips Brooks House.
At the present time no more applications are being received for the Paymasters' and Quartermasters' Departments in the army. The latter will in all probability need more men in the course of the summer, so that the course given by the University Business School, beginning June 1, should be very valuable towards this end.
