Captain Cordier stated yesterday that there was to be a special Faculty meeting on Tuesday next, at which time it was to be proposed that next enrolments in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps be permitted immediately. If the Faculty authorizes this increase, with academic allowances, the students who join will be accepted only after a thorough physical examination, and they will be required to take such additional instruction under arms and in sections as the Commandant may prescribe in order to make up the work covered by the advanced classes.
Provisional companies and special sections will be formed for this purpose. The sections and drills will be arranged so as not to conflict with the students' regular academic appointments.
If the action of the Faculty is favorable the Department of Military Science and Tactics will be prepared to receive another 500 men under these arrangements.
New enrolments will be received from Wednesday on, and the training for these new men will commence immediately after the spring recess.
