FIVE APPOINTMENTS MADE

At the meeting of the President and Fellows of the College last Monday, five appointments were made and 17 scholarships were awarded. The Board of University Preachers was also announced. At a meeting of the Overseers of the University on the same day three new professors were appointed and six assistant professors assigned.

The appointments of the President and Fellows are as follows: Lawrence McGourity as Instructor in Operative Dentistry; Frederick Francis Furfey as Fellow in Anatomy; Clarence Geddes Severy as Fellow in Anatomy; Simon De Salles McCarty as Assistant in Prosthetic Dentistry; Claude Victor Johnston as Assistant in Operative Dentistry.

The board of University Preachers will include the following: Edward Caldwel Moore, chairman; Harry Emerson Fos dick, Paul Revere Frothingham '86, Ambrose White Vernon, Charles David Williams, and Elwood Worcester.

The following awards were made; Williams S. Murphy Scholarship to Gardner Murphy 1G; Harvard Club of Chicago Scholarship to F. L. Rickaby 1G; Associated Harvard Clubs Scholarship to R. B. House 1G; Rocky Mountain Harvard Club Scholarship to W. W. Burke 1G; Austin Scholarship to K. J. Conant 1G; Austin Scholarship in Landscape Architecture to S. D. Zehrung 2G; Austin Scholarship in Landscape Architecture to T. S. Rogers 1G; Joseph Evelett Scholarship to C. P. Teigen 2G; University Scholarship to J. L. Pease; University Scholarship to A. P. Evans 2G; University Scholarship to A. F. Kirkland; University Scholarship in Landscape Architecture to H. J. Walker 2G; University Scholarship in Landscape Architecture to H. E. The appointments of the Board of Overseers are as follows: Walter Fenno Dearborn as Professor of Education; William Duane '93 as Professor of Physics; Henry Wyman Holmes '03 as Professor of Education; Cleavland Floyd as Silas Arnold Houghton Assistant Professor of Bacteriology; Jacob Bronfenbrenner as Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine and Hygiene; Arthur Becket Lamb '03 reappointed Assistant Professor of Chemistry; Alfred Marston Tozzer '00 reappointed Assistant Professor of Anthropology; Chandler Rathfon Post '04 reappointed Assistant Professor of Greek and Fine Arts; and Irving Widmer Bailey '07 as Assistant Professor of Forestry.
