Diving Only Event in Which University Took First Place.

The University swimming team lost to Amherst in the Boston Y. M. C. A. tank Saturday night by a score of 38 to 12. The only event won by the University was the diving contest which went to M. B. Blanchard '18.

50-yard swim: Won by Lemcke; second, Nellegan; third, R. C. Jackson '19. Time: 25 2-5s.

100-yard swim: Won by Nellegan; second, Lemcke; third, R. C. Jackson '19. Time: 1m. 1 4-5s.

200-yard swim: Won by Cowles; second, R. C. Jackson '19; third, Vermillion. Time: 2m. 31s.

Diving: Won by M. B. Blanchard '18; second, Sears; third, B. McNear '19.

Plunge: Won by McAllister, 59 ft.; second, Young, 58 ft.; third, S. H. Wirt '19, 51 ft.

Relay race: Won by Amherst (Cowles, Lemcke, Nellegan); second, University (Jackson, Rogers, Blanchard). Time: 1m. 30s.
