FIRST 1920 SMOKER TONIGHT

The first official smoker of the Class of 1920 will be held in the Living Room of the Union this evening. Contrary to the previous announcement, it will begin at 8.30 o'clock, and the doors will not be open until that time. A photograph of the class will be taken by Notman at the beginning of the meeting, and members are requested not to smoke until after the picture is snapped, in order that the air may be as clear as possible.

The festivities will begin with a speech by F. C. Church '20, the president of the class. The second speaker will be F. K. Bullard '20, chairman of the finance committee, who will outline the financial policy to be pursued by the class treasury. The next speaker, R. G. Stone '20, editor in chief of the Red Book, will describe the various competitions for the board of the class annual.

The amusement part of the program will begin with an animated cartoon, "Colonel Heeza Liar," followed by a Triangle comedy entitled, "The Bathtub Pals." The feature will be a five-reel picture of Anita Stewart in "My Lady's Slipper." The University Hawaiian instrumental quartet will play several selections, and a 25-piece undergraduate orchestra, led by J. M. Parmelee '19, will furnish music during the pictures.

The refreshments will consist of ginger ale, beer, crackers and cheese, and pretzels. Cigarettes will also be supplied.

The committee in charge of the smoker consists of Chase Mellen, Jr., chairman, B. S. Blanchard, Jr., W. G. Brocker, Edward Cabot, J. R. Clements, R. W. Emmons, 3d, E. A. McCouch, Stephen Paine and Slater Washburn.
