The initial practice of the two first crews in the Lynn harbor which was to have been held yesterday afternoon was postponed until today because it was found impossible to arrange facilities for launching the shells. The float used by the West Lynn Boat Club was washed away shortly after being put in place, and without it no boats could be put on the water. The two shells which were sent down yesterday have arrived and the Pup 1, which will be used by Coach Haines, has been launched on the harbor. Early this afternoon the two first eights will leave by automobile and train. Yesterday practice for the University boats consisted of a snappy ten minute row in the tank, followed by a three-mile run up the river bank and back. The two first crews were seated as follows:
A.--Bow, Potter; 2, Brown; 3, Cabot; 4, Franklin; 5, Coolidge; 6, Whitman; 7, Moody; stroke, White; cox., Cameron.
B.--Bow, Darling; 2, Young; 3, Fisher; 4, Taylor; 5, Parkman; 6, Pope; 7, Brazer; stroke, Emmet; cox., Read.
