Professor Frank W. Taussig '79, of the Economics Department, has been selected by President Wilson as chairman of the new Tariff Commission of six members. It had been announced previously that Professor Taussig was to be a member of the commission, but it was made known only yesterday that he was to be at its head. The nominations of the members of the board will be sent to the Senate for ratification during the present special session. Professor Taussig has obtained leave of absence from the University until September, 1918.
