PROF. BLANCHARD GIVES SIX LECTURES ON WAR

Will Describe Battles of August, 1914 At Lowell Institute This Afternoon.

During the next three weeks Professor Raoul Blanchard, exchange professor from the University of Grenoble, will give a course of six public lectures on "The European War on the Western Front." These lectures will be in French, and will be held under the auspices of the Lowell Institute in Huntington Hall, 491 Boylston street, Boston. Professor Blanchard is one of the greatest of French geographers, and these lectures offer an unusual opportunity to members of the University, especially to students of French and of Military Science. They will be given at 5 o'clock on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. The subjects will be:

Today: Batailles d'Aout, 1914: Charlerol at Morliange.

March 16: September, 1914: Bataille de la Marne.

March 20: Fixation de Front: 1914-1915; Aisne, Yser, Ypres, Artois, Champagne

March 23: Bataille de Verdun.

March 27: Bataille de la Somme.

March 30: Evolution de la Tactique et de 1'Armement depuis Aout, 1914, jusque a Decembre, 1916.
