There are to be three Susan Anthony Potter Prizes for the year 1916-17. A prize of $75 is to be awarded for the best essay on a subject dealing with the Spanish literature of the Golden Age. This competition is open to all undergraduates of the University and closes on May 1, on or before which date all manuscripts must be delivered at the office of the Secretary of the Faculty, University 20.
Two comparative literature prizes will be awarded. One of the value of $100 will be given for the best thesis by a graduate or undergraduate in the University or Radcliffe on any subject in the field of comparative literature which has been approved by the chairman of the department. Another prize of $50 for the best thesis on a subject in the field of comparative literature concerning the Middle Ages or the Renaissance will be awarded. This competition is open only to undergraduates of the University. The theses for the comparative literature prizes must be submitted to Professor W. H. Schofield on or before May 1, 1917.
