The spring competitions for the board of the Illustrated will start next Monday, February 12, when all candidates will report at the office on Massachusetts avenue. The competitions will be held in the news, photographic, art, and business departments and are open to all members of the classes of 1919 and 1920. No previous experience in any branch is necessary. Many positions are open to the successful candidates on all the staffs. The competitions will last 12 weeks.
The revival of a special competition for the art department will be a feature of the work this spring. The men in this department will design the covers and make up the picture pages, and occasionally will be called upon to draw a serious cartoon. The photographic department will take the largest number of men as various special numbers during the second half year will call for more pictures.
The new officers will be elected tomorrow and will take charge at once.
