P. B. K. Chooses Orator and Poet

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa has selected for its Commencement exercises, President Meiklejohn, of Amherst, as orator, and Hermann Hagedorn '07 as poet.

President Meiklejohn has been president of Amherst since 1912, before which time he was a member of the faculty at Brown University. He is a member of the American Philosophical Society and the American Psychological Association. His human interest in all problems will undoubtedly make his oration an interesting one.

Mr. Hagedorn was poet of his class on graduation in 1907 and the author of several one-act plays that were produced by the Dramatic Club. He has since written "The Silver Blade," a play in verse, "A Troop of the Guard and Other Poems," and "The Horse Thieves," a one-act comedy.
