UNIVERSITY AND FRESHMAN MATMEN DEFEATED TECH

Regulars' Match Decided by Victory of Burnham Over Wirt in 175-lb. Contest.

The University and Freshman wrestling teams defeated the M. I. T. and M. I. T. freshmen in two wrestling meets at the Hemenway Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The University won by a score of 13 to 10, while the Freshmen won by 21 1-2 and 1 1-2.

The outcome of the meet was undecided until the final event, in the 175 pound class, when S. Burnham '19 won his match from Wirt on a decision. The heavyweight match was defaulted to Captain W. B. Snow '18.

The individual bouts resulted as follows in the University meet:

115-pound class, H. L. Ettlinger '18 lost to Bone on decision; 125-pound class, E. L. Davidson '17 won from Stebbins on decision; 135-pound class, R. W. Killam '19 won from Hoffman on decision; 145-pound class, R. G. Killam '18 lost to Giles on decision; 158-pound class, O. R. Lindesmith '17 defaulted to West after a minute of wrestling because of an injury to his ankle; 175-pound class, S. Burnham '19 won from Wirt on decision; heavyweight class, Captain W. B. Snow '18 won by default.

The Freshman bouts resulted as follows: 115-pound class, A. Green '20 won from Means on decision; 125-pound class, J. F. Hardaway '20 won from Bowman on decision; 135-pound class, J. Israelite '20 won from Lariviere on decision; 145-pound class, C. H. Walsh '20 won from Smith by a fall in five minutes 18 seconds; 158-pound class, A. K. Marsh '20 won from Freeman by decision; 175-pound class, Captain J. M. Brown '20 won from Levanson in four minutes five seconds on a half-nelson; heavyweight, L. B. Davis '20 drew with Davis.
