The campaign for enlistments in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps ends today at 6 o'clock when all enrolment blanks must be handed in at Weld 3. No blanks will be received after that hour.
Total figures of enrolment last night were 849. In order to reach the full strength of 12 companies 111 more men must be enrolled. But as this number is not sufficient for headquarters staff, at least 175 more names should be added to the military roster by 6 o'clock. The committee of 60 will continue their canvass of the dormitories today in a final endeavor to secure additional enlistments.
The assignment of section, lectures and drill hours will be announced in Monday's CRIMSON, when a special supplement will be printed for the benefit of those enrolled. These lists will also be posted at University Hall, Weld 3 and other buildings in the University.
Sergeant Orlando Bryan, who aided Captain Cordier in instructing the Harvard Regiment last year, reported at headquarters yesterday for work in the R. O. T. C.
In addition to these enrolments in the Reserve Officers' Training Unit, approximately 257 other members of the University are engaged in military or naval work of some kind. Of these 15 have secured positions in the Aviation Corps, while 85 others have signed up for aeroplane work during the summer of 1917, under the guidance of the Government. The Naval Training Cruise contingent already numbers 60 and 27 men have applied for admission to the Naval Patrol. The balance are in various organizations of the militia, particularly in Battery A of the Massachusetts National Guard.
