Many delegates from the University will attend the Quinquennial Convention of the Intercollegiate Menorah Society, to be held in New York City from December 26 to 31.
There are now 58 branches of the Menorah Society in different colleges in America. Three are in Canada. The Society was founded at the University in 1907, and A. Davis '07, a prominent lawyer and playwright, who is now chancellor for all the societies, was its first president.
The convention next week will include two luncheons and symposiums in the Columbia Commons. There will also be expositions of Jewish drama and art, as well as a concert of Jewish music by distinguished artists. On Sunday, at 7 o'clock, the main function of the occasion, the Convention Dinner, will be held, at which the most prominent members of the Society will speak.
