In the 78th season of its annual lectures, the Lowell Institute announces the fourth of its series of talks, beginning on Wednesday of next week. They will be given in Huntington Hall by Mr. H. Charles Woods, on the subject of "War and Diplomacy in the Balkans." Mr. Woods was a member of the late Grenadier Guards, is the author of "Washed by Four Seas," "The Danger Zone of Europe," "La Turquie et ses Voisins," and has been military and diplomatic correspondent of the London Evening News. He has also acted as special correspondent in the Balkans for the London Times and the Graphic.
The lectures will be given each week on Wednesday and Saturday as follows: "The Near East Before the Great War," on Wednesday, December 5.
"The Near East in the Great War," on Saturday, December 8.
"The Danube to the Aegean and the Adriatic to the Bosphorus," on Wednesday, December 12.
"The Baghdad Railroad in the War," on Saturday, December 15.
"The Dardanelles," on Wednesday, December 19.
"The Salonika Campaign," on Saturday, December 22.
"Constantinople," on Wednesday, January 2.
"Mittel-Europa," on Saturday, January 5.
These lectures will be given in Huntington Hall, 491 Boylston street, at 5 o'clock in the evening. Admission is free, but by ticket only. The tickets may be obtained on application to the curator of the Lowell Institute at Huntingon Hall by enclosing a stamped and self-addressed envelope for each ticket desired.
