APPLICATIONS DUE BY TOMORROW

All applications for the Charles Eliot Norton Fellowship in Greek must be presented to Professor Charles B. Gulick, chairman of the Department of Classics, either today or tomorrow. The candidates' actual theses will not be due for two months and a half, and will be handed in to Professor Gulick on or before February 15, 1918.

The award of the Fellowship will be based on a thesis written on a subject which has been approved by a committee of the Department of Classics, and on other available evidence of scholastic ability. The winner must agree to pursue his studies during the year of his incumbency at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, and to direct his study to the field of Greek history, literature, art, archaeology, epigraphy or topography.

James Loeb '88 of New York, N. Y., was the founder of the Charles Eliot Norton Fellowship. He established it as an expression of his regard and respect for Professor Norton, and in recognition of his eminent services in behalf of classical archaeology. It is open to graduates and undergraduates of the University and of Radcliffe College.
