The preliminary contest for the Paseur Medal will be held tonight in Sever 11 at 8 o'clock, immediately after the Milltarylecture. Each year this medal is offered by Baron Pierre de Coubertin for the best speech in English upon some topic of contemporary French politics. The subject tonight is: Resolved, that the French government should take by taxation at least 75 per cent of the excess profits made buy French manufactures and tradesman during the war."
Candidates for the prize, which is offered under the joint auspices of the French Department of the University and the Debating Council, will make a five-minute speech on either side of the question. Six men will be chosen from those competing to take part in the final contest on November 27.
