The Fogg Art Museum received during the second half of the academic year 1916-17 many loans, gifts, and acquisitions. Some of the most important of these are listed below. 229 books have been added to the library, and 414 photographs and 2119 lantern slides have been given to the Museum.
The principal acquisitions were as follows:

Bettens '73, an unfinished historical painting, "Monmouth before James II", by John Singleton Copley; from friends of the Museum, a Sienese panel, a "Nativity", attributed to Pietro Lorenzetti; from Mrs. Edward P. Bliss, Greek torso of a boy; from J. Pierpont Morgan '89, 11 volumes of reproductions of drawings in the Uffizi; and from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 158 photographs of prints.
In addition to these gifts the Museum has acquired by purchase a water color drawing, "The Matterhorn", by John Ruskins; and a head pencil drawing, "Edinburgh", by J. M. W. Turner.
There have been the following temporary and permanent loans:
From a friend of the Museum, various 16th and 17th century velvets; and drawings by Wyant, Martin, and Bone.
From Charles A. Walker, a portrait by Raeburn, and a water color, "Interior of a Cathedral" by Bosboom.
From Henry Goldman, "The Musician", by Holbein.
From Charles B. Perkins '83, a "Holy Family", Florentine School; and a Sienese Triptych, the "Crucifixion."
From a friend of the Museum, "Diana" by Tintoretto; and a portrait by Antonio Moro.
From R. N. Burnham '99, five pieces of prehistoric Etruscan ware.
