A. Y. M. C. A. Hut similar to those in operation in the various cantonments is now being erected for the Radio School students and any other members of the Army or Navy in Cambridge in the north end of the quadrangle back of Pierce Hall. The National War Council of the Y. M. C. A., which is building the hut, has placed entire supervision of the structure when completed in the hands of Arthur Beane '11, Graduate Secretary of the Phillips Brooks House Association. H. A. Roberts '20 will act as assistant, and probably will live at the hut.
Every convenience for the comfort and pleasure of the Radio School students is to be provided. Reading and writing rooms together with a large lounging room will furnish a convenient retreat for the men when off duty. The Radio School canteen is to be moved into the new structure.
No definite statement regarding the program of entertainment at the hut has been made, but musicales, motion picture shows and other performances, as well as Sunday meetings of various kinds, will be held throughout the winter. Although the hut was to have been completed by this date, unforeseen delays will postpone the opening for a fortnight.
