The light weight of the Andover eleven together with the well-drilled attack of the Freshman team, gave 1921 a 16 to 0 victory in the first game of its regular schedule on Soldiers' Field Saturday afternoon.
Line plunges were responsible for the two touchdowns, while three more points were scored on a goal from field.
No scoring was done in the first period but in the second quarter the Freshmen began a running attack, and through consistent gains by R. S. Humphrey and F. B. Lothrop they brought the ball to within striking distance of the Andover goal line. Humphrey on a 12 yard run around right end then scored the first touchdown. H. H. Faxon kicked the goal. Toward the end of the half the Freshmen again were within 15 yards of the goal line, but Andover's defence stiffened, and a drop kick was tried. Faxon, from the 20 yard line placed the ball squarely between the posts.
The second half brought but one score to the Freshmen. From the middle of the field short line plunges through guard and tackle carried the ball to the one yard line. Lothrop scored on the next play. Faxon missed the goal.
