Today the Stadium will once more echo to the sound of football signals as the Informals play the Bumpkin Island Sailors It is a long time since team has met team at this place. When Harvard played Princeton in that memorable struggle last year but few thought that Soldiers' Field would so soon become what its name implies. War seemed a long way off; the thirty thousand people were then far more intorested to find out whether Horween's kick would go true than what would be the result of the battle on the Somme. Things have changed. The turf in the Stadium is trampled by the feet of the R. O. T. C.

Dadmun's team is scattered, while the Informals hold the center of a neo-athletic stage. No longer do the colleges reign supreme in the football world, for the Service terms must be reckoned with. To see civilian meet solider is a noble sight, but still we yearn for our old foes. Let us hope that next year we may again see a University team marching down the field to Harvardiana and the cheers of Harvard's five thousand sons. Until that happens we wish the Informals the best of luck, hoping that next year they may be University material in the true sense of the word.

Today the Freshmen start their football season, with Andover appearing against them. These men of 1921 have no regular work ahead of them this year. Their success means much more than Freshman victories. Let every one of them realize that he is personally sharing the burden of making future football a glorious thing at Harvard.
