In a game marked by brilliant playing the Freshman hockey team defeated the Andover seven by the score of 12 to 2 on the Charlesbank rink at Soldiers Field on Saturday. Although Andover's defence was bewildered before the powerful rushes of the Freshman forward line, the game was not as one-sided as the score would seem to indicate. Andover fought from beginning to end and seriously threatened the 1920 defence at the start and toward the end of the game. After the first few minutes of play when the Freshman offence had gotten warmed up, 1920 played excellent hockey, keeping the puck well in Andover's territory and executing brilliant passes and well-organized rushes which resulted time and again in scores.
E. Cabot '20, who played right centre for 1920, secured the first goal of the game after 45 seconds of play, and Allen, the Andover right wing, caged the puck 15 seconds later. Andover's second goal, scored by Wanamaker, was made a minute before the game ended, and the Freshman goals followed each other in rapid succession. Emmons, who scored four times, was the star for the Freshmen, and he and Church worked out well together on the offence.
The summary: Score--Harvard 1920, 12; Andover, 2. Goals--Harvard 1920: Emmons (4), Church (3), Walker (2), Payne (2), Cabot; Andover: Allen, Wanamaker.
